CAD Specialist

Responsibilities
- Development of mechanical systems that may include advanced composites or other material technologies, tooling design, rapid prototype components
- Produce 3D models of individual components, assemblies, tooling for moulding, assembly, trimming and bonding jigs & fixtures and other ancillaries
- Creation and support of 2D drawings and specification documentation
- Responsible for generation of product and assembly documentation
- Provide technical expertise in problem resolution, cost reduction and quality improvement
- Support Design Team in product design and development activities, continually improving the modelling and analysis techniques
- Develop process improvements and standard work practices for operational efficiency
- Provide support to manufacturing if required
Qualifications and Experience
- Expert CAD designer, with minimum 5 years of experience in surfacing and solid modelling
- High level of proficiency in CATIA V5 / 3DEXPERIENCE workbenches: Part Design, GSD, Assembly Design, 3D FT+A and Drafting
- Knowledge of manufacturing technologies used in production of metallic, plastic, advanced composite parts and rapid prototyping
- Good understanding of GD&T
- Self-reliant. Intrinsically self-motivated
Preferred
- Prior experience in automotive development programmes
